FORT MYERS, Fla. (Feb. 11, 2016) — A ten-foot-tall sculpture titled “Brisas” from internationally-acclaimed artist Edgardo Carmona, was recently purchased by the ALLURE condominium developers and will now remain in historic downtown Fort Myers. The sculpture is part of the “Allure Your Senses” 23-piece exhibit, which is sponsored by ALLURE, the new, two-tower, 32-story luxury condominium to be built on the banks of the Caloosahatchee River at 2601 First Street. The art installation, recently brought to the Fort Myers Historic River District, is Carmona’s first North American public art debut.

“Brisas” will be on display in front of the ALLURE sales gallery, located at 1300 Hendry Street in charming downtown, until she is moved to the project’s new sales center. Then, when the luxury condominium is complete, she will be moved to the ALLURE condominium, where she will reside permanently.

Prior to coming to Fort Myers, the “Allure Your Senses” exhibit, was on display in Paris on the banks of the Seine River and in front of the Eiffel Tower. The monumental sculptures in historic downtown Fort Myers are positioned in various outdoor public spaces, predominantly along First Street and Hendry Street from City Hall to the riverfront. The exhibit was also showcased during ArtFest Fort Myers and will continue to be displayed through March 31.

Since 2003, Carmona’s artwork has been exhibited in South America, Germany and most recently in an 18-city tour of Europe. Many of his works are on permanent display around the world. Edgardo Carmona was born in Cartagena in 1950. He followed studies in mechanical engineering and business administration, and then studied fine arts, painting and sculpture.
