Colombian Artist’s Public Exhibit, Brought to the Fort Myers Historic Downtown by Developers of ALLURE LUXURY CONDOMINIUMS, Extends to RSW

FORT MYERS, Fla. (February 4, 2016) — A sculpture from internationally-acclaimed artist Edgardo Carmona, who recently  made his first North American public art debut with the unveiling of his 23-piece “Allure Your Senses” exhibit in the historic Fort Myers River District, is now on display at Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW).  The piece titled “Dúo Sinfónico” is an iron sculpture which creates a moment where a flutist with his beautiful tunes, attracts a chirping bird to sing with him, creating a stunning symbiosis between human and wildlife. It will be on display through sometime in March. The sculpture, located in the East Atrium departure level, near door number two, is part of the Art In Flight partnership between Lee County Alliance for the Arts and Lee County Port Authority, which brings art to public spaces at Southwest Florida International Airport.  For more information visit www.artinlee.org.

The “Allure Your Senses” exhibit, was most recently on display in Paris, and is sponsored and hosted by ALLURE, the two, luxury 32-story towers to be built on the banks of the Caloosahatchee River at 2601 First Street in charming downtown Fort Myers. Working with City of Fort Myers officials in this private-public initiative, “Allure Your Senses” artwork is positioned in various outdoor public spaces, predominantly along First Street and Hendry Street from City Hall to the riverfront. The exhibit also will be showcased during ArtFest Fort Myers on Feb. 5, 6 and 7, and continue to be displayed through March 31.

Since 2003, his artwork has been exhibited in South America, Germany and most recently in an 18-city tour of Europe. Many of his works are on permanent display around the world. Edgardo Carmona was born in Cartagena in 1950. He followed studies in mechanical engineering and business administration, and then studied fine arts, painting and sculpture.
